Every system we use is formaldehyde-free

Cheaper keratin treatments rely on formaldehyde or formaldehyde-releasing agents to seal the hair. That's what causes the stinging eyes and harsh chemical smell people associate with keratin, and why some salons sit you next to a fan.

Ours don't use it. No fumes, no burning eyes, no headache afterwards — and it's why we're comfortable treating clients who are pregnant or sensitive to strong chemicals.

We also don't dilute product to stretch it further. It's the quietest way a salon cuts costs on keratin, and it's the main reason a treatment fades in six weeks instead of four months.

Yes. Desio is a unisex salon and we do keratin for men regularly, usually for frizz and coarse texture. Shorter hair means a shorter appointment and a lower price.

Do I need to buy a special shampoo after keratin treatment?

Yes - a sulphate-free one. This isn't an upsell. Regular shampoo will strip the treatment within weeks and cut your result down to about six weeks instead of four months. We'll show you the options at checkout, and you're welcome to buy elsewhere.

How soon can I wash my hair after keratin treatment?

Wait 48 to 72 hours. During that window, avoid ties, clips and tucking your hair behind your ears - the keratin is still settling and can hold a crease.

Do I need an appointment, or can I walk in?
